Si gracias a todas las concentraciones contra la OTAN ese siniestro organismo no se instala en Valladolid, los políticos que han apostado por él quizás se disgusten. Pero quizás se les pase el disgusto porque hay plan B para la militarización caqui internacional de Valladolid. O a lo mejor esperan que haya plan A+B
Tomás Villanueva, vicepresidente de la Junta de Castilla y León, y el señor rector de la Universidad de Valladolid, interesándose por la aeronáutica.
Cidaer Industrias Aeronáuticas, empresa vallisoletana constituida el pasado diciembre junto a un socio norteamericano, fabricará 2.400 aviones ligeros de despegue vertical hasta el 2019 con destino al Servicio de Guardacostas de Estados Unidos... creará 4.000 puestos de trabajo directos hasta el 2010 y llegará a los 8.000 en el 2019. La firma necesita al menos 100.000 metros cuadrados de superficie para la planta de fabricación y una pista de pruebas.
En conjunto la inversión prevista asciende a 1.100 millones de euros divididos en dos fases. La primera, dotada con 100, se corresponde con el proceso de I+D, que Cidaer está financiando con fondos propios. Los 1.000 millones restantes son los necesarios para sufragar la etapa de producción... De acuerdo con Pedro Luis Merino, la idea es que en el año 2009 el primer prototipo «esté rematado y volando».
No hay que olvidar que el Servicio de Guardacostas de los Estados Unidos es una de las cinco ramas del Ejército de los Estados Unidos. El carácter militar del proyecto, apenas insinuado en las primeras informaciones, ya es plenamente reconocido por la prensa.
El avión que proyecta construir Cidaer Industrias Aeronáuticas -filial de Cidaut- en Valladolid junto a un socio estadounidense tendrá uso militar. La aeronave está siendo diseñada desde hace dos años en el parque Tecnológico de Boecillo, en las instalaciones de Cidaut, en un proyecto de investigación y desarrollo en el que participan cerca de trescientos especialistas... La aeronave tendrá capacidad para transportar hasta a seis soldados y una de sus cualidades más significativas... el grueso de la innovación que representará esta aeronave, se encuentra en el blindaje del que estará dotado. Diseñado para el despegue vertical y para el vuelo estático a 4.500 metros de altura, este aparato supersónico podrá alcanzar los 4.000 pies de altura (unos 15.000 metros) -sic-... El trabajo de Cidaer en este proyecto comenzó hace aproximadamente cinco años y del mismo han surgido dos modelos... El más desarrollado, que se fabricaría en Valladolid... es el dedicado al transporte de soldados, que todo apunta a que intervendrían en las operaciones militares de carácter especial.
Pese a la adscripción militar del cliente (Servicio de Guardacostas de los Estados Unidos), se puede pensar que tras ese nombre se encuentra un benigno servicio que recorre las costas de Estados Unidos rescatando náufragos y advirtiendo de mareas negras. Su dependencia militar no sería más que un apaño burocrático, y , pongamos por caso, la Universidad de Valladolid podría colaborar en este proyecto sin violar el artículo 118.2 de sus estatutos en que renuncia a la investigación bélica. Suena benigno lo de guardacostas, e incluso así resuena en la entrada que la wikipedia dedica al servicio.
Pues bien, George W. Bush jr. despeja en este discurso cualquier duda que podáis tener sobre las utilidades del Servicio de Guardacostas de Estados Unidos.
En la Operación Libertad Iraquí, nuestro Servicio de Guardacostas desempeña una función crítica. Hemos enviado a muchas escampavías del Servicio de Guardacostas y a más de mil de nuestros mejores miembros de servicio activo y reserva al Golfo Pérsico y las aguas circundantes. El personal del Servicio de Guardacostas está protegiendo puertos clave y las plataformas petroleras de Iraq. Están deteniendo a los prisioneros de guerra. Los miembros del Servicio de Guardacostas están cumpliendo con sus deberes con valentía y excelencia, y Estados Unidos aprecia su excelente servicio.
Y es que los conceptos de "costa" y de "de" a los que alude la expresión "Servicio de Guardacostas de Estados Unidos" deben entenderse en sentido amplio, cosa que en Cuba saben muy bien.
Las regulaciones del Servicio de Guardacostas tienen el propósito declarado de "mejorar la aplicación del embargo contra el gobierno de Cuba".
Algunas informaciones recientes relacionan al Servicio de Guardacostas con amenazas más explicitas hacia Cuba.
Esta semana la agencia AFP reportó que el Comando en conjunto con el Servicio de Guardacostas realiza en estos momentos “Ejercicios de seguridad naval en Florida” (sudeste de Estados Unidos) ante (sic) “una posible emigración masiva de Cuba”.
Incluso puede verse que la costa de EE.UU. llega hasta Colombia...
... pues el servicio de Guardacostas es uno de los brazos ejecutores del Plan Colombia, operación de combate contra drogas tan peligrosas como la soberania nacional de quien no es EE.UU.
Más aún, podéis leer en la página 12 de este (.pdf) publireportaje, el Servicio cuenta con una División Internacional de Servicio y Asistencia Técnica que proporciona entrenamiento y servicios... para países con programas de aplicación de las leyes en sus aguas jurisdicionales. El personal de ITD recibe entrenamiento en contraterrorismo, protección de fuerzas, habilidades en supervivencia y entrenamiento avanzado en los campos de estas especialidades. Son entrenados en forma simultánea en varias misiones del Servicio de Guardacostas. Además, algunos miembros del ITD, son sometidos a una inmersión intensiva en lengua española antes de ser desplegados en el extranjero. Pero también podéis leer que uno de los países donde esta división ha proporcionado entrenamientos es Bolivia, que no tiene costa. En foto, se muestra una imagen de dicho entrenamiento, consistente en la práctica de artes marciales -sin duda útiles para el rescate de náufragos-. Realmente, el concepto de "costa guardada" es amplio. En las páginas siguientes del publirreportaje podéis encontrar indicaciones sobre el Servicio de Guardacostas como traficante de armas -reventa a otros países de equipos antiguos-.
Habrá quien piense que para cuando salgan aviones de la planta de Valladolid, en 2009, el mundo será un lugar más pacifico y el Servicio de Guardacostas no tendrá tarea fuera de las costas de EE.UU., entendiendo por costa de EE.UU. lo que debe entenderse en castellano. Lo que se empieza a vislumbrar en el futuro, no es una lucha EE. UU. con Irak o Irán, sino más bien, una lucha final de monstruos consumidores por lo que queda en el golfo Pérsico. Existe una razón poderosa por parte de los EE. UU. para tener intereses en que la zona se desestabilice mucho y se pueda dar un cierre total del Estrecho de forma prologada.
En fin, queda claro quién es el cliente al que, con gran entusiasmo, políticos de Valladolid de uno y otro signo se han puesto a hacer la corte. Queda claro cuales son las operaciones especiales para las que los guardacostas karatekas podrán emplear los modernos aviones. Curiosa forma de activar la provincia de Valladolid, convirtiéndola en una filial de esclavos felices al servicio del imperialismo USA. Quizás por tu profesión nos puedes hacer alguna ampliación.

Pues tienes razón, despues de leer la delirante descripción del proyecto he comprobado que corresponde bastante exactamente con las informaciones aparecidas en la prensa general sobre este proyecto. Lo que nos llevaría a comentar el nivel de tonterías que se suelen introducir en la prensa cuando se entra en detalles técnicos sin tener ni idea de lo que se está hablando, pero sobre eso se podría escribir un libro... Mis disculpas si el comentario anterior ha podido ser hiriente para el autor de la entrada, ya que se ha limitado a copiar estas informaciones y no es responsable por tanto de su increíble inexactitud.
Por mi parte, tras leer la información disponible, y tratando de distinguir datos de tonterías, la impresión que me queda es que el proyecto trataría de desarrollar un "mini-helicóptero" no tripulado de observación. Es decir, no llevaría soldados si no cámaras o sensores para vigilancia costera.

Te agradezco las disculpas, pero no estoy seguro de que sea correcto lo que haces en la última parte de tu comentario.
Una cosa es que un periodista pueda liarse en aspectos técnicos y que un ingeniero pueda detectarlo, y otra que un ingeniero pueda suplantar la información que el periodista dice tomar de sus fuentes. No sé si las fuentes que han dicho al periodista que Cidaer construirá aviones tripulados son veraces o no, pero tú tampoco lo sabes; sencillamente, ni tú ni yo las hemos oído, sólo contamos con el testimonio del periodista. Una cosa es negar que por la descripción que da del proyecto sea creíble un avión tripulado de esas características, y otra deducir de ahí que el autentico proyecto es algo completamente distinto de lo que , según las fuentes del periodista, se pretende: un avión dedicado al transporte de soldados para misiones especiales. Si en un reportaje sobre un repostero se recoge mal la receta de los pasteles que hace, eso no significa que el repostero hace chorizos en vez de pasteles.
A mi me parece bien que haya ingenieros e ingenieras que comenten la noticia desde el punto de vista técnico, pero me parece mejor, dado que se habla de una empresa de Valladolid en la que colabora estrechamente la universidad de la misma, que los ingenieros que trabajan en esa empresa nos den alguna luz -por si alguien se sorprende de la ingenuidad de esta solicitud, aclarar que mis amigos me llaman abeja maya-.
Lo del blindaje era uno de los aspectos de la descripción del proyecto .una de cuyas virtudes es la ligereza- que te parecían absurdos. Sin embargo, me encuentro con noticias como ésta:

El Servicio de Guardacostas de los Estados Unidos tiene el Caribe lleno de peones –tripulados o no- al servicio de los caballos y torres del Comando Sur de los USA.
El USSOUTHCOM se encuentra ubicado en Miami (con una sub-sede en Puerto Rico). Es responsable de la planificación, coordinación y conducción de la actividad militar de EE.UU en toda América Latina y el Caribe. El USSOUTHCOM ha instalado bases militares con aeropuertos en Aruba-Curacao, en las Antillas Holandesas; en Manta, Ecuador y en Comalapsa, El Salvador.
Estas bases le permiten a EE.UU introducirse tanto en el espacio aéreo de la mayor parte de los países de América Latina, como por mar y tierra. Además, EE.UU tiene una base operacional militar en Soto Cono, Honduras, que proporciona apoyo a helicópteros en las misiones intervencionistas norteamericanas en América Latina y el Caribe. La facilidad con que los militares norteamericanos pudieron construir esta red de bases al servicio del imperio se debió principalmente al apoyo y entrenamiento a largo plazo de oficiales militares dependientes realizado por el USSOUTHCOM en América Latina…. Los Guardacostas norteamericanosdirigen operaciones y entrenamientos y aumentan el flujo de armas hacia los militares caribeños. En estas operaciones, gran cantidad de agencias norteamericanas participan por tierra, mar y aire en los países del Caribe. Y aquí tan contentos porque quizás los peones del Servicio de Guardacostas USA se llegarán a construir desde Valladolid en los próximos años. Hemos de esperar que funcionen mejor (o peor) que los de fabricación francesa que se han llevado por delante en un accidente a un alfil que se les oponía.

A través del convenio entre Venezuela e Irán, el Ministerio del Poder Popular para la Defensa de Venezuela analiza la posibilidad de construir aviones no tripulados, lo que «tendrá muchos beneficios de estima y prestigio del país»… Estos aviones denominados UAV (por sus siglas en inglés) pueden mantenerse en vuelo por varias horas, se manejan a control remoto y permitirían evitar poner vidas en riesgo al ayudar en la vigilancia en las fronteras marítimas, fluviales y terrestres del país. Esta compañia creara 250 puestos de trabajo desde su puesta en marcha hasta 2011.Cidaut aportará a este socio industrial su tecnología de materiales de muy altas prestaciones. Los dos promotores no han decidido aún con precisión donde se ubicarán las fábricas. Todo apunta a que será preferentemente en Castilla y León.

Indra implantará en León el nuevo centro de excelencia de Sistemas de Seguridad. La empresa preve invertir 20 millones de euros en los próximos tres años. El centro desarrollará tecnología propia en detección de explosivos, detección de incendios y una factoria de software de seguridad, así como productos de vigilancia, sistemas de protección e inhibición de frecuencias, el sistema Manta de protección de aeronaves, sistemas de videovigilancia inteligente y vehículos aéreos no tripulados. La empresa Indra ha sido la encargada por el ministerio de Defensa para llevar a cabo e implantar el sistema integrado para la gestión de emergencias.

Reunión convocada por la Asamblea AntiOTAN de Valladolid, 5 III 2007: Pensamos que sería bueno que la Asamblea antiOTAN retomara, durante el mes de marzo, su actividad contra la OTAN y la base en Villanubla, que se pronunciara con claridad contra la instalación de fábricas para usos militares, concretamente contra la fabricación en Valladolid de aviones ligeros para el ejército Usamericano, y que, junto con lo anterior, denunciara los preparativos de nuevos ataques militares en países del Oriente Medio antes de que éstos ocurran. La fecha del IV aniversario de la ocupación de Iraq podría ser buena para hacer alguna movilización antiimperialista.
Aquí se explica con más detalle el sentido de la convocatoria:
El Comité de Solidaridad con los Pueblos, manifiesta su total rechazo a que en Valladolid se instale ninguno de los dos proyectos: ni base de la OTAN, ni fabrica de aviones para ningún ejército. Ambos proyectos tienen un marcado carácter militarista y convertirían a Valladolid en una pieza más de la maquinaria terrorista del imperialismo para Oriente Medio y el mundo. La instalación de la base de la OTAN y la fabricación de miles de aviones para su uso militar crearía un tipo de economía en nuestra ciudad dependiente de la guerra: más guerras imperiales igual a más empleo, más paz igual a más paro, lógica ésta, que rechazamos radicalmente, ¿acaso podemos apoyar las guerras para crear o defender puestos de trabajo?.
