leemos en el suplemento de libros de le Monde dos buenas noticias para los amantes del comic, que al fin al cabo por algo son los franceses los reyes del "bande dessiné" y suelen dedicarle especial atención en sus páginas culturales:
- "Rendez-vous à Paris" del indiscutible Enki Bilal, puede que en estos momentos el num-1 del comic mundial. Tercera parte de la serie "El sueño de un mosntruo"
- "La traversée du labyrinthe", una biografía del maestro Hugo Pratt escrita por Jean-Claude Guilbert. Empresa algo difícil ya que el propio Pratt decía que había encontrado tantas formas de contar su vida y sus cosas que ni él sabía si alguna de ellas era cierta ...
Me apetece añadir alguna cosa :
Es cierto que considero a Enki Bilal como uno de los grandes, y personalmente lo situo hace tiempo en la categoría de maestro.
Esta entrega forma parte de lo que en un principio era una trilogía "el sueño de un monstruo" y que parece ser que a última hora ha decidido convertir en tetralogía, pues bienvenido sea. No se si estará ya traducido y publicado en España ni cual será el título, supongo que "cita en Paris".
Bilal empezó esta serie en el 98 con "sueño de un monstruo"
y continuó en 2003 con "treinta y dos de diciembre".
La historia se situa en un futuro próximo, los tres protagonistas han nacido en pleno conflicto de los Balcanes, en 1992 y allí coinciden en un orfanato. Nike HATZFELD posee una memoria prodigiosa lo cual le convierte en objetivo directo de la Obscurantis Order, una organización sectaria paraestatal que pretende acabar con la ciencia, el conocimiento, la cultura y la memoria ... elementos a los que culpabilizan de la situación decadente del mundo.
¿ ciencia ficción ? y no tanto. Bilal profundiza aquí en las relaciones de poder, la política y una serie de elementos para nada del futuro sino bastante cercanos. El conflicto de los Balcanes aun coletea y tardarán mucho en cerrarse las heridas.
Bilal, afincado en París, dibujante, guionista, director de cine puede hablar sobre el tema, nació en Belgrado, hijo de madre checa y padre yugoslavo. El protagonista Nike no se siente ni bosnio ni croata ni yugoslavo pero su vida se ve totalmente marcada por un conflicto que no tiene nada que ver con él, igual que millones de seres humanos.
Esperamos ansiosos que se publique en España, los anteriores volúmenes habían sido publicados por "Humanoides asociados" la editorial fundada en Francia por empeño del boss Moebius-Giraud y que reunió a los mejores dibujantes europeos dando lugar a la verdadera edad de oro del comic, nada que ver con la factoría Marvel y que definitivamente elevó el género a cotas hasta entonces desconocidas, transcendiendo del puro entretenimiento panfletario para niños y adolescentes basado en heroes y patria a una cosa de adultos con una variedad temática y técnica impresionante.

Del otro boss, el fallecido Hugo Pratt ¿que se puede decir de él que no se haya dicho ?
Pues parece que Jean-Claude Guilbert si tiene algo que decir y ha presentado el libro "la travesía del laberinto" (suponemos que será la traducción de la traversée dy labyrinthe).
Pratt decía que se sentía una mezcla de Omar Khayyam, de Sindbad el Marino y Henri de Monfreid. Se consideraba veneciano, viajó por todo el mundo y conoció personalmente las culturas y personajes mas sorprendentes y remotos, en una época en la que aun quedaban rincones sin contaminar y por tanto se mostraban en su expresión mas pura. También conoció zonas de conflicto, el colonialismo en una de sus fases mas duras y el despertar de la conciencia nacionalista o independentista en muchas regiones.
A través de su alter ego "Corto Maltés" nos enseñó el mundo, otras culturas y una buena parte de la historia de la primera parte del siglo XX, esa historía que no se estudiaba en los colegios y de la cual muchas veces no hablaban ni los periódicos, por lo menos de esa manera.
Hugo Pratt era también un verdadero iniciado que nos adentró en ciertos misterios que podían fluctuar desde la magia o las sociedades secretas hasta los arcanos y culturas desaparecidas.
Corto Maltés es un personaje universal, también veneciano pero con pasaporte británico, hijo de una gitana "la niña de Gibraltar" y un marino de Cornualles; en realidad Pratt cogió el nombre de un personaje al parecer real, un pirata que surcaba los mares del mundo, especialmente el Atlántico y seguramente en un principio implicado en el tráfico de esclavos con Norteamérica.
Corto Maltés no es un héroe, no toma parte en los acontecimientos, simplemente suceden cuando él pasa por allí, aunque claramente siempre se inclina por el bando del mas débil, del oprimido.
De su mano hemos vivido historias con los últimos piratas "el monje", hemos descubierto el continente perdido MU, hemos viajado a Samarcanda, hemos vivido episodios de la primera gran guerra, hemos conocido el antiguo IRA, atravesado Siberia, surcado los mares del Sur y entrado en contacto con la guerrilla brasileira, con la magia ancestral del Amazonas o con las sociedades secretas judeo-cristianas y la mafia polaca en Buenos Aires ...
Pratt decía que seguramente Corto Maltés moriría víctima de la última bala perdida en la guerra civil española ... uummm ! pero nunca lo llegó a escribir.
Así que yo me permití la osadía de atacar ese capítulo que espero poder algún día terminar :"la pista de Toledo"
Por alguna razón veo que Corto llega a Toledo en pleno acoso al Alcazar, seguramente llevado allí por alguna "pista" encontrada en Venezia sobre alguna llave mágica que los antiguos judíos sefarditas había dejado en Toledo, ciudad llena de referencias iniciáticas, llave que es la clave para resolver uno de los grandes misterios del arcano ...
Y como no, por allí anda su colega Rasputín, seguramente sea el que está detrás del secuestro del hijo del General Moscardó (defensor del Alcázar por el bando fascista), pero a Rasputín no le importa nada el conflicto, no está aquí por eso, sino que anda detrás de un fabuloso tesoro que se supone enterrado en alguna parte del Alcazar ... pero chitón, no cuento nada mas.

Por cierto que hay otro capítulo que espero algún día el Sr Giraud se decida a publicar y que ojalá lo hubiera hecho en su día mano a mano con Pratt: el encuentro entre un ya mayor Mike Donovan aka Blueberry y un jovencísimo Corto Maltes, en algún lugar de norteamérica, puede que Boston o el mismo New York.

hoy me han traído el "rendez vous a Paris", precisamente una buena amiga que venía este finde procedente de Paris, a la que había avisado para que hiciera todo lo posible por encontrarlo y traerlo, (gracias Blan).
En fin, tengo que decir que ha cubierto todas mis expectativas, que es simplemente COJONUDO, que Bilal es un monstruo, cada vez dibuja mejor ... y me alegro:

Estas viñetas de Bilal te pueden hacer sentir como si estuvieras en el MOMA o en el MACBA o en cualquier museo de arte contemporáneo, cualquiera que se precie, que no es el caso del patio Herreriano de Valladolid, y ya lo siento, me gustaría mucho decir todo lo contrario.
Esta misma semana subastaban unas cosillas del gran Banksy en Sotheby´s (London), si, el primer grafiteiro en entrar en museos y subastas millonarias.
Siempre he pensado que Banksy le debe mucho a Bilal, a su estilo y concepto, de la misma forma que Bilal ha mamado del gran Moebius,
y con todo esto simplemente quería decir tres cosas :
- Me choca el hecho de que estos tipos, Bilal, Moebius, Miller, Pratt ... no tengan ese reconocimiento, me sorprende. Muchas de las viñetas de Moebius están muy por encima de las creaciones de la mayoría de los pintores a partir de la 2ª guerra.
- Si he dicho que considero a Bilal el num-1 actualmente es porque así lo pienso, desde luego la trayectoria del maestro (de su maestro) Moebius no es comparable, pero es que tampoco es comparable con ninguna otra, nadie mas ha escrito un "blueberry" de la misma forma que nadie mas que Cervantes escribió un "Quijote", pero en estos momentos Bilal anda fino, mas que Giraud, en su pequeño-gran pulso = juegan blancas ganan negras ...
- Las viñetas de Bilal en "rendez vous ...", en un supuesto formato de 1 mt (no se en que dimensiones diseñará los originales) serían una de las mejores exposiciones que podríamos ver ahora en cualquier museo del mundo.
Asi que, por favor, al hablar de comic deberíamos empezar un poco a distinguir y a poner algunas cosas en su sitio, Superman, Spiderman y todos los manes y desmanes directamente a la sección de tebeos, ahí deben estar, y esto no lo entendamos en detrimento de los tebeos, que hay algunos rompetechos y 13rue del percebe muy divertidos.
Eso es todo. Y es una pena que tanta gente se pierda un acontecimiento como supone un buen comic, uno de estos de verdad ...

sobre Bilal, totalmente de acuerdo, pero, quizas con algunos peros. El momento final de la triologia de Nikopol o el principio del Sueño del mounstruo me parece (personalmente) su etapa mas interesante a nivel grafico (en el 32 de Diciembre, creo que abusaba del uso del blanco para hacer reflejos, para mi gusto, quedaba un poco raro). en cuanto a sus historias que decir, fascinantes. me muero de ganas por saber como se solucciona toda la tram (aunque si hay 4 libro tendremos que esperar algo mas). por cierto, yo tambien quiero un mini-cat.....
por cierto, navegando por esas webs de Dios (ya sabeis, las que los tios nunca miramos) me encontre con una pagina Rumana o Hungara, donde habian fotos de una fiesta All White (evidentemente el final no era el mismo que el del comic), pero me sorprendio, por que pensaba que era algo que se habia inventado el bueno de Bilal....
