The Great North Run Cultural Programme fue puesto en marcha en el 2005 para celebrar el XX aniversario de la famosa medio-marathón BUPA Great North Run. El objetivo captar el espíritu del evento y la relación entre deporte y arte, para ello abren un plazo de recepción de proyectos y una comisión decide el ganador que se ocupará de perpetrar la obra del año siguiente.
No buscan documentales BBC sino piezas originales fuera de lo habitual, mas artísticas, y este año los encargados serán Vicki Bennett de nuestros queridos People Like Us que contará con un presupuesto de 30mil libras, todo el material de archivo del BUPA y casi un año (hasta septiembre 2009) para entregar el trabajo...
