El domingo 23 de noviembre se celebra por tercer año consecutivo el "día de los bosques autóctonos", impulsado principalmente por ARBA con el apoyo y colaboración de diferentes asociaciones y colectivos de Valladolid
el Cerro de las Contiendas será el escenario en el que se plantarán diversas especies de arbustos y árboles autóctonos, (quejigos, encinas, almendros, rosal silvestre, espino albar, endrino y otros matorrales), en un modesto intento de colaborar con la regeneración de la vegetación propia del lugar, la cita es a las 11h en la plaza elíptica de Girón y habrá un grupo de músicos folk tocando en directo.
Se trata también de aprovechar para recordar los que fueron entonces los planteamientos y peticiones de estos colectivos ante el nefasto anteproyecto de intervención de ayto y Junta en ese espacio.
