Buda colapsó por vergüenza
Hana Makhmalbaf
Ya tiene distribución en España "Buda colapsó por vergüenza",la última película de Hana Makhmalbaf, -se ha traducido "explotó", al parecer erróneamente-. Hana Makhmalbaf es la benjamín de un afamado clan de cineastas iraníes. Distribución tiene, pero, ¿tendrá esta película alguna exhibición, aparte de la habida en el Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid?

Según algunos, la exhibición se la pueden ahorrar: así, ciertos críticos despachan la película de la Makhmalbaf de un golpe; afirman que en Occidente esta película sólo puede interesar y recibir premios por razones no cinematográficas, ya que no es más que un muestrario de denuncias mil veces reiteradas de la religión y de la opresión de las mujeres. Como si, siendo ese el caso, la reiteración y permanencia de la opresión y de la religión se debieran al gusto de la autora, o como si fuera mejor obviar tal dato para no aburrir a los críticos y sus secuaces con reiteraciones y tópicos. Por cierto, son los mismos a los que parece oportuno exponer durante cuatro páginas las impresiones positivas que en ellos provocan las nuevas versiones de "La noche de los muertos vivientes" o "La matanza de Texas".
A lo peor lo que molesta a tales exquisitos es que la autora no tenga el buen gusto de apreciar otra nueva versión de las películas que sí impresionan a esos críticos: la protagonizada por tropas U.S.A. y spainiolas en Afganistán, pretextando esa temática "reiterada y superada".
Otros pueden pensar que todo lo que cuenten los Makhmalbaf ya nos lo sabemos. Cineastas iraníes que hacen películas sobre integristas afganos (aunque por aquí se les llame a todos "terroristas" por igual, los talibán han estado enfrentados al régimen de Irán, y viceversa): podría pensarse que los medios iraníes "disidentes" aprovechan a los rivales afganos para decir de ellos y sus costumbres lo mismo que los medios euronorteamericanos dicen de los iraníes y sus costumbres. Unos por otros, el mundo libre da cera a la opresión y "burla la censura islámica". Pero, ¿realmente "Buda colapsó por vergüenza" dice y/o expone lo mismo que dicen y/o suponen los medios occidentales cuando hablan de "países islámicos"?
A mayores, ¿no tiene nada que aportar en términos de lenguaje cinematográfico, como afirman también los críticos antecitados?
Los que veáis la película podréis juzgar -y aprender-. Como sucedáneo, aquí va un vídeo de la rueda de prensa con Hana Makhmalbaf, durante el festival de San Sebastián, a propósito de "Buda colapsó por vergüenza".

Re P.D. (11/10/2008). El restaurador virtual y satanista Antonio José Navarro se confirma como uno de los críticos de sensibilidad torturada por la existencia de películas de las Majmalbaf; así nos lo confirma en su crónica del último festival de San Sebastián en Dirigido por... de octubre de 2008:
Se está convirtiendo un una (molesta) costumbre que algún miembro de la familia Majmalbaf... exhiba en el certamen donostiarra su 'última' película.
Eso sí, parece ser que la existencia de algunas secuencias de violencia han servido de alivio a la terible experiencia sufrida por Navarro durante el visionado. La causa de tanto dolor ha sido esta vez Two-leged Horse.

El Blimdablog(sic) enlaza a un informe con estadísticas sobre los bombardeos de las tropas de la OTAN sobre Afganistán.
El bombardeo es el recurso que las fuerzas de tierra toman cuando no tienen a su disposición sus propios medios de apoyo de fuegos directos, normalmente por decisión política.
Este año de 2007 ha visto cómo por ejemplo, desde la base aérea de Bagram, dichas misiones de bombardeo han pasado de 6.495 en 2006 a 12.775 en 2007 (+50%), y de las misiones llevadas a cabo, aquellas que supusieron bombardeo se multiplicaron por 30 entre 2004 y 2007 (de 86 a 2.926), con el pico máximo de este tipo de misiones en agosto de 2007. La actividad mensual durante 2007 superó los totales de 2004 o 2005, según el informe del CSIS dirigido por el especialista Anthony H. Cordesman.

Pues bien, en Valladolid están siendo los cines "Casablanca" los encargados de consumar un nuevo atentado contra la calidad media del cine mundial: proyectan "Buda explotó (colapsó) por vergüenza", exhiben a unos cuantos típicos tópicos niños afganos capaces de deteriorar la tolerancia del más tolerante cinéfilo exquisito.
Me parece un buen momento para rescatar textos de revistas de cine con unos años a la espalda. Por un lado, éste de la cabeza más encanecida del clan Majmalbaf, o sea Mohsen -publicado en en el número 16 (octubre 1999) de la revista "Banda aparte"-:
Conquistar una opinión relativa no es fácil, pero con ejercicio y voluntad se puede conseguir, superando las resistencias. ¿Por qué permanecer parado cuando la esencia de la realidad en la que vivimos cambia continuamente?... El cine es el cine en su totalidad. No es aquello que os gusta a vosotros, ni aquello que les gusta a los otros. Incluso la atribución de la patente de cine bueno y cine malo, más que una valoración de la verdad del cine, es un modo de privilegiar uno de sus tantos modelos.

Todo esto es muy bonito, pero después de los años que han pasado y lo montados que estamos todos en caballos de madera occidentales que cagan bombas de racimo, pudiera ser que no disminuyan los encantos del dogmatismo para muchos mulsumanes. Y alguno habrá que piense lo que el propio Mohsen al principio de su carrera, prefiera la involución a la evolución manifiesta en el texto de Mohsen (así lo contaba Antonio Weinrichter en el 'Nosferatu' de octubre de 1995, dedicado a 'Cine e Islam'):
... la obra de Makhmalbaf se integra en el marco del Departamento Artístico de la Organización para la Propaganda Islámica, que él mismo fundó en 1981... (desde 1989, [también] por la Fundación de los Desheredados, poderoso organismo de intención 'islamizadora').
Si hay que creerle, no fue al cine de niño, ni tampoco de joven: 'En una ocasión, me enfade con mi madre porque había ido a ver una película. .. El cine de Irán se reducía, en el mejor de los casos, a venderle sueños a la gente que vivía en la miseria; y, en el peor, a esparcir la disipación en una sociedad que buscaba un ideal'.
Su juventud estuvo marcada por la actividad política: a los 17 años (1974) fue arrestado por la policía secreta del Shah y estuvo en la cárcel hasta el triunfo de la revolución. Al salir... se propone hacer un tipo de cine completamente diferente, siempre con el fin declarado de 'presentar la ideología islámica... y desafiar a los artistas cuyas ideas y formas de expresión no concordaran con las de la organización'.
... Su obra fascina por su contundencia, su rabia, su compasión y por sus sorprendentes recursos expresivos, lejos desde luego de toda concepción de 'mirada límpida' a nuestro gusto: también en esto es irrecuperable...
[En 1987 Makhmalbaj dejó clara su posición ideológica, a raíz de una película suya anticomunista]: 'Siempre he considerado a la izquierda y a la derecha como sendas desviaciones de la revolución islámica'... [Sus películas de los 80] hacen de Makhmalbaj el máximo exponente de un humanismo feroz, el humanismo de los desheredados, de los miserables. Si es cierta la noción de que la ideología coránica (con sus extremos) es lo único que tienen los que nada tienen en este mundo, en ningún cineasta he visto más claramente encarnada dicha noción que en Makhmalbaf. .
