Rinus Van Alebeek, músico e performer electrónico nascido na Holanda em 1956. Chega à música relativamente tarde, depois de ter publicado dois livros no seu país natal sob o pseudónimo de Philip Markus, o primeiro dos quais, publicado em 1991, recebeu na Holanda o prémio de melhor primeira novela.
A sua abordagem à improvisação musical é radical, tendo muitas vezes por base sons captados nas suas muitas viagens através dos EUA, da Europa e de países do Magreb. Rinus Van Alebeek utiliza recursos simples de captação sonora como microfones ligados a velhos walkmans e nos seus concertos mistura e processa muitas das suas cassetes com a ajuda de um mixer e de um pedal de efeitos, criando poderosas colagens sonoras lo-fi entre o noise e a poesia pura.
