John Waters está haciendo un programa de televisión para Court Tv. Se titula "Hasta que la muerte nos separe" y hace gala del mejor humor negro sobre el matrimonio. Retrata a una pareja desde el altar hasta el juzgado, donde uno de los cónyuges es acusado del asesinato del otro. John Waters actua en todos los capítulos interpretando a la muerte. Según el propio Waters: "Siempre pensé que el privilegio de ser gay es que no tenemos que casarnos o entrar en el ejército. Personalmente no tengo el menor deseo de un imitar una tradición heterosexual que es cara y bastante cursi, aunque ciertamente conozco parejas gay que están casadas que deberían estarlo.
