Actividades en Valladolid contra la OTAN
Este 2007, estreno de una nueva película de Rocky y continuidad en la política agresiva de la OTAN y en llamamientos a la complicidad ciudadana con dicha política.

En este 2007, en vez de anunciar su disolución, la OTAN amenaza con abrir una nueva base en Europa -y quizás en Zaragoza o incluso en Valladolid-. Además, se celebrará una cumbre de tan siniestro organismo en Sevilla, a comienzos de febrero.
Frente a estos hechos, y en sintonía con otras iniciativas de respuesta que se están dando en todo el Estado, la Asamblea AntiOTAN de Valladolid anuncia las siguientes actividades.

Comunicado de la Asamblea AntiOTAN leído durante la concentración del 18 de Enero en la plaza de Fuente Dorada (Valladolid), a la que asistieron unas 200 personas.
El pasado mes de diciembre, las ciudadanas y ciudadanos de Valladolid, fuimos sorprendidos por la noticia de que nuestra provincia había pasado a ser candidata, junto a Zaragoza y otras ciudades europeas, para la instalación de una base militar de la OTAN con capacidad para espiar y vigilar en tiempo real todo movimiento terrestre en cualquier parte el mundo.
Ante la gravedad de la noticia, distintas organizaciones y personas decidimos reunirnos el pasado jueves once de enero y costitiur la ASAMBLEA ANTI-OTAN de Valladolid. Esta asamblea ha quedado abierta a todas aquellas personas y organizaciones comprometidas con la lucha contra el imperialismo y el neoliberalismo que deseen participar en la denuncia de esta organización terrorista internacional y evitar que la misma utilice nuestro suelo en beneficio de sus intereses imperiales por el mundo.
Esta concentración que estamos realizando hoy es nuestra primera acción de
protesta. El siguiente acto será una manifestación convocada para el sábado 27 de enero, a las ocho de la tarde, en la plaza Colón, coincidiendo con la llamada desde Sevilla a manifestarse por todas las ciudades del estado en protesta contra la cumbre de ministros de defensa de la OTAN que se celebrará los días siete y ocho de febrero en Sevilla.
En el segundo semestre de este año, la OTAN decidirá en que lugar instalará la base de Vigilancia Aliada Terrestre o AGS como denominan técnicamente a la base militar. Dicen los señores de la guerra que tendrán muy en cuenta la oposición social a la hora de decidir el lugar para su ubicación, desde la ASAMBLEA ANTI-OTAN esperamos ponérselo muy difícil. Acabamos invitando a todos y todas a participar en la próxima reunión de la Asamblea antiOTAN que se celebrará el lunes, día 22 de enero, a las 20:30 horas, en los locales de la Federación de Asociaciones de Vecinos de Valladolid.

Más de trescientas personas se manifestaron en la tarde del sábado por las calles de Valladolid contra la instalación de una base de la OTAN en Villanubla.
Los asistentes, que salieron de la plaza Colón, transitaron por las calles de la capital pucelana sin mayor incidente que el acaecido con un vecino de la calle Miguel Íscar que fue abucheado por una parte de la manifestación.
Se gritaron las frases de siempre contra la organización militar (incluidos cánticos recordando al PSOE su cambio de postura ante ésta en los años 80) mientras la gente que no se había enterado de la convocatoria observaba cómo transcurría la comitiva, siempre vigilada por policías nacionales, cuya presencia se hizo especialmente notable con la llegada a la plaza de San Pablo.
En este lugar de la ciudad, frente a la Capitanía General, se corearon consignas contra los militares (“En este lugar, se enseña a matar”) y contra el régimen franquista, en clara alusión al águila imperial situada encima de la puerta principal del mencionado edificio público.
Este fue el final del acto de protesta, que concluyó con la lectura del protocolario comunicado en el que se criticaba a la OTAN y su política de “arrasar pueblos” y se animaba a los participantes a seguir protestando para que su ciudad no fuera “cómplice del imperialismo”.

Ya hay vídeo y galería fotográfica de la manifestación de Sevilla contra la OTAN. Para los ociosos con sentido del humor, abajo hay un debate político-folclórico más que divertido.
En esta crónica nos cuentan que al final de la manifestación cantó “El Cabrero”. Eso es una manifestación. El que sabe, sabe, y el que no que milite en internet, que decía aquel. También hay un debate curioso debajo de la crónica.
