They don't nominate just blogs in English, but most part are. It's just a question of "be easier" to read. And since most part of people who vote are Americans, the blogs in English have better chance - even if they say no.

"you can write in the language you prefere" Not really. Well, I can, but there is a huge chance that lost most of my readers, since there are less translators from Portuguese to other language than English.

that's also the reason because we write that blog in spanish, and we wanted also do it in portuguese... but finally our lusitanos collaborators have their own blogs and webs and we're still waiting for them...
But it's also truth that there's easer for us cause there are a lot of spanish readers all over the world, in fact in the stacts of our sites we have more visitors from USA than from Spain (for example) and we thouth that there are already a lot of blogs wrote in english and a lot of people who cannot read in english, so very usually we translate news from english into spanish for them (in our way and own words, of course)
