Hace unos días el belga Kris Vleeschouwer presentó la instalación Glass Works en el último festival sonambiente que se celebra en Berlín por segunda vez desde 1996.
El festival en si gira en torno al arte sonoro combinado con cualquier técnica o recurso y siempre en relación con el espacio
Kris Vleeschouwer preparó una instalación con dos grandes estanterías (de 10 x 5 mt) en las que colocó 10.000 botellas y frascos de cristal. Las estanterías tenían un mecanismo que las hacía mover a izq y drcha, arriba y abajo, conectadas vía adsl a cinco contenedores de reciclaje de la calle (y los alemanes si reciclan, si).
Cada vez que alguien (personas ajenas a todo este tinglado) tiraba una botella dentro de uno de esos contenedores provocaba el movimiento de las estanterías y el choque y vibración entre botellas, haciendo caer muchas de ellas al suelo. Kris juega con todos estos sonidos y los ecos que producen al romperse las botellas y a la vez desde la instalación se pueden ver los contenedores callejeros en ese mismo momento a través de cámaras de vídeo.
