Masonna o Yamazaki Maso
Y si se habla de Merzbow hay que hablar de Masonna, que también se llama Yamazaki Maso. Traducimos de su página:
"Masonna comenzó a tocar en directo en 1991, combinando acción física con ruido creado usando un micrófono y un reducido equipo electrónico.(...) Estos eran eventos extremadamente violentos, que invariblemente incluían daños tanto para el equipo como para la carne. Como resultado, las actuaciones debían ser interrumpidas en unos pocos minutos (...)"
Además del ruidismo de Masonna (track 2, extraído de Shock Rock), Yamazaki Maso da rienda suelta a su afición por la psicodelía en Christine 23 Onna junto a la quitarrista Toda Fusao (un cacho de Top Of Spot, extraído de Acid Eater), y en Space Machine a su amor por los sintetizadores analógicos (un cacho de la pista 2, extraído de 2), entre otros proyectos.
